An Army kid who moved around his entire life, Jon started his sports career as a Certified Athletic Trainer after graduating from Taylor University. After attending Graduate School for Sports Business at Washington State University he went on to a career in Athletic Training working in multiple D1 Universities. His final stint in sports medicine was with the ECHL’s Phoenix Roadrunners as the Head Athletic Trainer before pivoting career paths into the creative industry.
In 2006 Jon began working as Team Photographer and Creative Manager for the Arizona Diamondbacks as they brought their entire creative and photography team in-house. In 2011 he took over the Creative Direction of the D-backs as well as continuing to oversee the photography team. In 2014 Jon and his family moved to Cooper City, FL to take a new Creative and Photography Director role with the Miami Dolphins. In those years while social media was coming into prominence among sports teams, Jon and the Dolphins creative, content, marketing, and social teams worked quickly and efficiently to change the landscape of sports photography, video, and creative on social media. They fostered deep connections with partners at Facebook, Instagram, Google and YouTube to make sure they were on the leading edge of creative and revenue generation in sports via social media.
Taking over the video/content group in 2016, Jon and his team won two Emmy’s for their storytelling work and were shortlisted for multiple Clio Awards. He currently resides in Madison, WI and is married to his best friend Jamie for nearly 20 years and has two sons, David (11), an avid baseball, soccer, and volleyball player and Michael (9) who also plays baseball, basketball, and soccer. He enjoys spending the majority of his time with his family and is an artist and drummer in his free-time.
